The Southeastern Regional Logistics & Distribution Center encompasses over 1.5 million square feet. Macy's Inc. contacted Rob Cooper from Value Energy Solutions to evaluate their current lighting, which included a Daylight Harvesting Management System, and design an appropriate solution unique to their facility. After a thorough review, including photometric options, and collaboration with the Value Energy Solutions team, Rob Cooper recommended a comprehensive combination of light fixture retrofits and new fixture upgrades. The results expected by the ROI are quantifiable and considered staggering by Macy's Executive Base. The results and excitement level after project completion for the increased quality of light by the facility employees were highly recognized and appreciated.
Prior to the ;energy efficient lighting upgrade the current light fixture count was (2,951) and after completion the facility utilized a combination of retrofitted and new T-8 fixtures totaling (1,529). The solutions, amidst what seemed like hundreds of aisles and 2-story conveyer systems, utilized fixtures equipped with occupancy sensors and program start ballasts, while other retrofitted fixtures utilized ones with a high ballast factor to generate the maximum light output. Other areas throughout the facility utilized New 6 Lamp T-8 high bay fixtures.
