New All-Ceramic Vegetable Peeler Introduced By BonElite
(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 29, 2013 ) Lake Forest, CA -- Lake Forest, CA, 6/24/13The problem with traditional steel blade vegetable and fruit peelers is that they very quickly turn dull after only a few uses. That's just one reason most kitchens have so many unused peelers lying around.
The other problem is that they're made of steel, and steel not only dulls quickly it also rusts. So add to the scrap heap are all those potato peelers and fruit peelers that are not just dull but rusty. But now a California company has come up with a Vegetable peeler that is not only effective but beautiful, as well.
BonElite, a Lake Forest kitchen utensils company, has introduced a new all-ceramic fruit and vegetable peeler that never rusts and retains its sharp edge up to ten times longer than steel. Both the blade and the handle on this Ceramic vegetable peeler are constructed from zirconium dioxide (ZrO2; also known as zirconia). The ceramic in BonElite peelers is manufactured by dry pressing zirconia powder and firing it through solid-state sintering. The blade is then sharpened by grinding the edges with a diamond-dust-coated grinding wheel. Zirconia ranks 8.5 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, compared to 7.5 to 8 for hardened steel and 10 for diamond. The result is a very hard edge that rarely needs sharpening.
The BonElite peeler offers strong durability as one of its features. It is dishwasher safe, and the distinctive rose floral design is fade-resistant even with years of regular use.
The BonElite ceramic vegetable peeler is available through Amazon and other fine retail outlets.
