Tuvizo Encourages Giving Back With Bikes For Kids
(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 31, 2015 ) Sarasota, Florida -- Abi Tunstall of Tuvizo took a look back in time and realized that riding a bike was one of the first things she learned as a child. However, Abi has also come to see that not every child gets to have the same opportunity. This brought Abi to the realization that there are means and ways to help and make a difference.
Born in 2005, TurningWheels for Kids aims to gift brand new bikes to underprivileged children. The charity organization not only distributes bikes during the holidays but also all-year-round.
From The Tuvizo Reflective Vest is bright and highly reflective, light weight and easily adjustable. the US to Africa, the World Bike Relief creates bridges for the people in Africa by distributing bicycles to people who live in rural areas that often walk long distances. The bikes allow them to have access to basic human needs like education, healthcare, and livelihood. The organization not only enables children to go to school safely but also improve their academic performances.
US-based organizations like Bikes for Kids Utah and Free Bikes 4 Kidz also distribute thousands of bikes to children every year. Both charities provide bikes for kids who are less fortunate and can't afford their own bicycles. Free Bikes 4 Kidz, however, also allow donors to donate old but still reusable bicycles to be cleaned and refurbished before being put away for distribution.
No child is left behind with Variety's "My Bike" Program which provides adaptive bikes for kids with physical disabilities. Serving numerous counties in Western and Central Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Variety gives these children the freedom of riding a bike.
From local to global efforts, another organization is Bikes 4 Life, dedicated to providing bicycles to underprivileged youth in the most vulnerable and neglected communities of society. Over the years, they have been fundraising bikes for indigenous groups across countries such as Uganda, Central Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Cambodia.
Although a bicycle can seem like a simple piece of invention that takes a person from point A to point B, it could be the change a child needs in their lives. Abi believes that for many children, owning a bike is a chance to experience more than just physical wellness but also to live a life, two wheels at a time.
