More than two-thirds of the 3,200 Houzz users who responded to the survey said they are increasing the size of the shower in the master bathroom. And half of those asked stated that they planned to spend at least $10,000 on the remodeling.

Recently, the Department of Energy adopted a stricter definition of its Energy Policy Act of 1992. The regulation restricts shower heads to a maximum flow of 2.5 gallons per minute. For years, the term "showerhead" was understood to mean a device that directs water onto a bather with each nozzle in a shower considered separately. Now, the DOE says a "showerhead" may incorporate "one of more sprays, nozzles or openings."

While this new interpretation will surely put a dent in some remodeling plans, Aqua Elegante remains optimistic.
