Effective Safety Tips In Cooking With Kids By Rhumen
(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 25, 2015 ) Edmonton, Alberta -- Cooking should be fun and children should not be stopped from wanting to learn to work their way in the kitchen. But of course, safety should be considered first. Rik Humen reveals to customers cooking safety tips with kids. Rhumen Quality Silicone Oven Gloves is one of the products of Rhumen Quality, which were launched in Amazon early last year. The oven gloves are considered versatile and are created to be flame and heat resistant, minimizing the risk of scalds, burns and fires.
First of all, Humen warns against leaving the kids by themselves in the kitchen. Constant supervision is important as the kitchen contains things that are probable causes of injuries such as knives, hot liquids, ovens, hot pots and electrical appliances.
Humen adds, "Washing the hands in warm soapy water before and after handling food can help minimize the risk of food contamination. This is especially true for handling raw meats and eggs. Dry your hands using a paper towel and if a dish towel touches the juice of raw meat or the meat itself, take the towel to the laundry for washing."
Humen reminds parents and guardians to turn off the oven and unplug all cooking appliances prior to leaving the kitchen. He continues to say, "Do not leave an oven or stove on if you will go away from the kitchen. Electrical appliances should also be placed a distance away from water sources to prevent electric shocks. When your hands are wet, stay away from electric sockets and remind the kids to never place their fingers or hands near electrical sockets."
Humen also reminds that pot handles must be turned inwards, away from the stove's front to prevent anyone from bumping or the kids from reaching and pulling them down. Humen says further, "You should use a frying screen in order to prevent oil from splattering and hurting anyone. In case grease in the pan catches fire, cover the pan immediately with a lid. Finally, never add water into a pan that has hot oil as it will make the oil splatter and burn anyone near. Throw flour or baking soda on grease fires."
