(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 31, 2015 ) London, UK -- The zeitgeist qualities in Chiropractor-turned-author Stephen Davison's new Crime thriller novel THE HUNTED KIND are clear to see. It deals with institutional child abuse that goes to the very top of society. Dark themes, but on the back of Savile affair, the Rotherham debacle and the alleged child abuse at Dolphin Square it is very current. Many of these events, in the United Kingdom, have been well publicised and allegations Stephen Davison - Crime Thriller Author The Hunted Kind - Book Three of Varcy and Kendrick Stephen Davison talks about his new crime thriller novel The Hunted Kind Stephen Davison talks about his Crime Thriller Novels and his thought process reach to the very top of society and politics.
He began writing it post Savile but before the other stories appeared in the news. So was it planned?
'No,' says Davison. 'I just write and see where it goes. What comes out is always a surprise. When I read about the alleged abuse at Dolphin Square, I went cold. Like life imitating art.'
THE HUNTED KIND is the third in a crime series set in London with City police detectives Varcy and Kendrick, who have become quite well known in the Kindle-sphere. The previous two novels, Kill&Cure and Dead Innocent, in his Amazon Kindle crime series series that have, to date, spent over 60 weeks in the Amazon bestsellers list. The first two flew up the charts with almost no publicity and Stephen has developed a strong following on social media.
'The stories are very fast and twisting, which people seem to like. The relationship between the two detectives is also a factor I think, but to see them climb into the bestsellers list was very surprising and very exciting. Unusual for an unknown Crime thriller writer.'
So who are his influencers?
'Lee Child definitely. I love his no nonsense style. James Patterson for his story telling and Harlan Coben for the hook and twist.'
With all this success, is he tempted by mainstream publication?
'Maybe, but I'd lose a lot of control,' says Davison. 'Depends on the publisher. Do they get it? Are they committed? Every author needs a Jerry Maguire in their corner I think. Especially in the mainstream market.'
