Zharmae Publishing Press Imprint Jabari & Jaser is excited for the Upcoming Publication of Larry Shackelford's Novel, The Keresa Headdress
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 29, 2014 ) Spokane, WA -- Zharmae Publishing Press Imprint, Jabari & Jaser, is proud to announce the upcoming publication of Larry Shackelford's novel, The Keresa Headdress. This gripping novel is set to publish on June 12, 2014.
About the book
Special Agent Karen Adams is a FBI agent recently stationed in Salt Lake City. She survived a troubled upbringing, which prepared her for a difficult career in law enforcement, but she also has a sensitive side to her disposition.
Karen is tasked with interviewing a frightened young woman who wants to file a missing person report on her boyfriend. He left on one of his quests to plunder sacred Native American burials and never returned. She admits that the couple makes their living selling looted artifacts, and the buyer is a high-profiled art dealer. Little does Karen know that this encounter would quickly evolve into a "career case" that plunges her into the unimaginable underworld of international drug smuggling and artifact thievery.
To her dismay, Karen is partnered with an obnoxious Special Agent who lives up to his reputation as a talented investigator and deplorable human being. Karen also elicits technical assistance from a seasoned Royal Canadian Mounted (RCMP) police agent and a University of Utah graduate student who is working on his doctoral degree in Anthropology.
The graduate student offers the key piece of information that launches the investigation. He believes that the pothunters are risking life and limb to unearth Utah's archaeological "Holy Grail": an ornate, ceremonial headdress that belonged to the legendary ancient shaman, Keresa. The shaman's grave is rumored to be in southern Utah near the town of Hilldale, but archaeologists are unable to verify the site because the rugged terrain is inhabited by a polygamous community hostile to outsiders.
Together, the team infiltrates a complex black market linking pornography, drugs, and art theft. The traffickers' ultimate prize is Keresa's headdress, thought to be worth a fortune.
The Keresa Headdress is set to publish on June 12, 2014.
