Knife & Flag has created the perfect work apron
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 01, 2014 ) St Louis, MO -- It all began as a one-person project. St. Louis tattoo artist Sean Baltzell needed a work apron that not only protected his clothing but was also comfortable, functional and durable. He used his creativity and design skills to construct the perfect apron lightweight, form-fitting and specially made for comfort and maximum coverage.
With the new apron, Baltzell no longer had a need to wear ratty-looking clothes to work each day.
After talking to craftsmen in his field as well as machinists, chefs, bartenders Mixologist warring Knife & Flag work apron. Tatoo Artist wearing Knife & Flag work apron. and other artisans, he discovered there was a need for this type of garment that extended far beyond his tattoo parlor. By tweaking the design for each type of trade, he could create the ideal apron for many types of workers all over the world.
I looked these types of workers as artists, Baltzell says. They need a garment that enables them to ply their craft effectively while, at the same time, providing protection for their clothing.
The next step for Baltzell was to form Knife & Flag Survival Union, an online outlet that provided several versions of the perfect apron. These items quickly sold out and requests flooded in for additional workwear accessories.
Now Knife & Flag Survival Union is ready to expand into a retail outlet in the Tower Grove neighborhood of St. Louis. The demand is there. The only thing lacking is funding.
Baltzell needs $50,000 to lease a storefront, purchase equipment and stock materials. In order to meet this goal, he has launched a Kickstarter campaign. To support this effort and view videos about the different types of products, visit the Kickstarter page.
In addition to aprons, the proposed store would also sell jackets, shirts, caps and other work-type accessories for tradesmen and artisans of various industries.
Tower Grove is undergoing a revival and wed very much like to be a part of its growth, says Baltzell. We offer a unique product: stylish, high-quality workwear for tradespeople, artisans and others who appreciate good workmanship and originality.
Depending on their donation level, supporters of this project will receive T-shirts, aprons and passes to shop at the store before it opens to the public. Those making donations of $1,000 or more will receive a custom-made Knife & Flag apron.
