New Footage Released of Deadly Runaway Vehicle Accident Reports O'Connor, Acciani & Levy

(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 14, 2013 ) Columbus, OH Footage of a fatal Columbus accident captured on police officer dash cams displays the devastation of a runaway Speeding vehicle. The crash on an Ohio turnpike led to the death of two people.

On Thanksgiving Day police received calls from various drivers of a runaway vehicle. Eyewitnesses believed the vehicle was going at least 150 miles per hour and police footage indicates that it was topping 125 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone.

Police attempted to catch up with the vehicle but found it difficult. Ten minutes into the chase police came up to a fiery Car crash involving two vehicles. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries; the couple in the other vehicle, a van, was killed. The driver of the speeding vehicle is being charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most dangerous time of the year to drive as millions take to the roads to visit relatives and loved ones. In 2011 more than 3,800 accidents were reported during the holiday weekend resulting in more than 15 deaths.
